Spheres orbit a splendorous sterling silver cube - their symmetric forms glow with enameled hues of jade and lapis lazuli. Ploy Intha proudly presents this sterling silver necklace, hand-crafted with supreme mastery and embracing the famed Sukhothai artistry. Meaning "dawn of happiness," Sukhothai was the first free Thai city to be founded, and it was renowned for its material prosperity and artistic greatness. An elegant accessory of refined attraction, this necklace is ideal for a sophisticated wardrobe. Intha describes the delicate and elaborate process involved in making this piece, "an alloy made of silver, copper and charcoal is molten in the forge and poured into a disc. The silver is beaten and shaped with many tools into the basic medallion, spheres and cones on an anvil. Then the artisan patiently and skillfully carves and solders the geometrical parts until the desired decorative pattern is achieved. Then he slowly accents certain patterns with colorful enamel. After that he braids long strings into a thin and flexible cord, strings the decorative parts on it, before applying an S-clasp to one ring at one end for opening and closing. The necklace is washed in a washing solution generally composed of tamarind and finally washed with water and dried, filed and polished to a shiny luster."
